Today was the Holi Holiday in India.
Holi, or Holli, also called the Festival of Colors, is a spring festival celebrated by Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and as you can see.... Marea, Cooper, Celine and I. Our community planned a celebration... We went out several days before to buy colorful dies to throw during the celebration.
There are several rituals attached to Holi. The first is smearing of colored powder on each other, and throwing or squirting colored water, with big squirt guns.
Everyone had a great time. About 30 people came to our apartment for a cook out on the terrace after the festivities. Following are some of the photos I took during the day.
UPDATE: One week later - My camera is still covered in multi colored dust and I have noticed that some people in the neighborhood are still trying to remove some of the color from their skin.
