Marea and Cooper arrived in India to live about two weeks ago. Unfortunately, they arrived at the same time that the country was trying to figure out how to deal with a severe outbreak of the H1N1 Swine flue. The city that we live in was actually "ground zero" for the outbreak. So, in addition to dealing with Jet Lag and Culture Shock, they were confronted with 24 hour news cycles filled with swine flue hysteria.
Needless to say, it was a less than ideal first couple of weeks and Cooper and Marea had a tough time. I think they were questioning their decision to make the move. They are fine now and everyone is happy. Cooper started school and loves it! Marea is making friends and has found a great big penthouse apartment with a roof top garden.
After being cooped up in the apartment for two weeks, we decided to get out of the city and enjoy the countryside. We joined a group that was going to visit Sanhagad Fort located about an hour outside the city. It turned out to be quite an adventure! Take a look at the following photos.
